Our Story so far

Ben and Elspeth Kong own and manage Student Links Ltd. 

After living in Thailand for 19 years Ben and Elspeth returned to NZ in 1991 for the education of their four children.  Shortly after returning they began helping parents of students from Thailand find suitable schools and accommodation for their children to study in the Christchurch and Canterbury region. While growing up in Thailand the Kong children were educated in Malaysia and Philippines.  This experience has prepared Ben and Elspeth in understanding what it means to parents to send children overseas to school.  They understand the preparation and support needed to assist students in their adjustment to learning in another culture.

Ben and Elspeth are assisted by Marie Gaudin whose role it is to recruit, screen and match host families to students.  Marie has also lived and worked in UK and Africa and brings a wealth of experience to her role.  She is very creative in assisting host families with feeding students healthy and wholesome meals. 

Ben visits natural parents in Thailand once a year and is happy to meet prospective new students and parents at these times.
