Fiji Trip

Did anyone miss us during the holidays? You might have heard by now that we did not rush back to Thailand to escape the earthquake but a few of us went to a great place, we went to the magnificent and unforgettable place, which is Fiji. Mint, Parn, Pon, Deang and I (Most) flew off to this wonderful place with Uncle Ben (our guardian)
We sailed away to a tiny island, which is called Barefoot Island, for three days, it took us about five hours to get there (from Nadi). Unfortunately, all of my friends were seasick including Uncle Ben, so only me that could handle it. We had a wonderful time, I really enjoyed eating a traditional Fijian foods, which was very tasty. The swimming, snorkeling and diving was better than we could have imagined, the size, colour and variety of the corals and fish and everything was unbelievable. We were very sad to leave the island.
Our drive to Suva (the capital city of Fiji) was a haze as we all slept it was very hot and humid. We had a chance to visit some of Uncle Ben's family. They are gorgeous. We went to one of Uncle's relative for dinner and they cooked lovely, delicious food for us. We had a chance to see the fire walking, which only one tribe in Fiji can do, they walk on the steaming, burning hot stones. Pretty amazing. In the evening, over dinner we ended up talking about the old days, the restaurant where we were eating used to be a movie theater according to Uncle Ben. We had a nice time eating and chatting about our lives but mostly Uncle Ben's!!! On our last day, we drove back to Nadi and we met more of Uncle Ben's family in the evening (he has a very big family).

Everything that has begin, must also the end. Uncle Ben's family waved us off at the airport. We were very sad, we wanted to turn back the clock but it is impossible. We had to face reality and go back to finish our studies and sit NCEA exams. This holiday was the best and most unforgettable time that we have ever had. Bula Vinaka Uncle Ben.
